Intensive Support
Mind and Body Consultants Ltd provides an Intensive Support Service to Auckland District Health Board, which is based very strongly upon our Peer Support Service Structure. The Intensive Support Service is staffed by Peer Support Workers. The Intensive Support Service is only available to ADHB service users who are referred to the service by their keyworker. ADHB service users can also access Mind and Body’s Peer Support Services.
Louwise Manns
Intensive Support Worker
Louwise and her one year old son came to New Zealand in 1995. She has struggled with mental illness and addictions since a very early age. In spite of these challenges she graduated with a National Diploma: Public Relations and have more than 20 years experience in accounts and reconciliations. She has completed various certificates and training courses in the fields of Business, Real Estate and Mental Health. Louwise believes that her recovery proves there is hope for everyone. She loves celebrating her peers’ successes and enjoys researching new resources to assist them in their recovery. She very much agrees with the company’s strength based philosophy and is very proud of the high standard of training the Peer Support Workers receive from the company.
Kate Neate
Intensive Support Worker
Kate has joined the team as an ISS worker, wishing to offer support that she would have wished for herself in the past. For the past 10years she has worked as a Restorative Justice Facilitator in the Ministry of Justice court pilot. She also worked as administrator and trustee for a not for profit organisation providing restorative justice services.Kate has a background in horticulture and worked with young people training them in planting and maintenance work. Kate has experienced and understands the clinging cloud of depression, and the panic of anxiety attacks, having had these companions since her mid teens after tragedy and loss.
